Criteria
natureplus e.V. has laid down the following minimum certification requirements for building products:
• The minimisation of the energy consumption and material usage over the complete product life-cycle
• The maximisation of the use of environmentally-friendly, renewable raw materials and regenerative forms of energy.
• The minimisation of the processing steps and the contents.
• The minimisation of emissions. The minimisation of harmful substances.
• The maximisation of those factors promoting well-being.
• The highest possible fault-tolerance in their use and application.
• Maximisation of the longevity and ease of repair.
• The desire that the products are re-useable
• Recyclable or at a very minimum that they can be disposed of without any danger
In summary, all products wishing to be certified for the natureplus Quality Seal must offer a maximum of positive health-related characteristics, environmental-friendliness and ease and applicability of use. These strict regulations are intended to lead to a situation in which only 20% of the products from a particular product category will be awarded the quality seal. This will provide a clear directional impulse to support the promotion of a culture of sustainable building.
