10 Years of natureplus
The theme of this year’s natureplus e.V. annual assembly is “10 years of the natureplus eco-label for sustainable building products in Europe”. It takes place on Thursday 21st June 2012 in the conference centre "beletage" of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, Schumannstr. 8, 10117 Berlin. The event takes place under the patronage of the former Minister for Consumer Affairs, Renate Künast (Foto), chairperson of the Parliamentary group of the German Green Party (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen).
In 2012 we are able to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the awardance, by the former Ministers Künast and Bodewig in Berlin, of the first natureplus certificates for sustainable building products. On the occasion of this anniversary we want to organise another event in Berlin on 21.06.2012 under the heading “10 years of the natureplus eco-label for sustainable building products in Europe”.
Natureplus has developed very positively over the last 10 years. We are currently active in numerous European countries with more than 300 certified products from around 70 manufacturers. All these products distinguish themselves through particularly good environmental performances over the product’s complete lifespan, energy efficiency in their production and usage, the preferred selection and use of renewable or mineral-based secondary raw materials and an effective contribution to healthy living e.g. through the strict control of harmful emissions. All of these requirements are monitored using laboratory analyses and by independent expert analysts. This has helped natureplus to develop into Europe’s most important label for sustainable building products enabling it to integrate or replace numerous other building materials labels.
Now we want to secure more political support – for example in Public sector contract awardance procedures – for natureplus certified products. One of our strengths is that natureplus offers simplified, reliable consumer information. Our aim is provide orientation for consumers (including the Public sector) and their spending power to the benefits of truly sustainable building products. At the same time we also offer the building sector an orientation for the development of their products and best-practice examples for tradesmen. To support these efforts natureplus is striving to increase its inter-networking with the political, scientific and commercial sectors.
The event on 21st June 2012 is split into 3 parts:
10:00-12:30 Membership Assembly of the International Association natureplus e.V. (members only).
14:00-18:00 Specialist conference with high ranking speakers from Germany, Belgium and Great Britain among others.
19:00-22:00 Festive evening (with the participation of Frau Künast) including a cultural presentation.

Refreshments and an evening snack are included in the participation fee of 95 €.
