We are looking for an individual who wants to dive deep into technical topics, drive projects forward, and help shape the association. This role combines scientific work, communication, and project development—with plenty of room for your own ideas and impact.
The natureplus office is looking to fill the following position:
Field of expertise: Building materials and sustainability, knowledge transfer, research projects
Start date: September 1, 2026
Employment: Part-time, initially 50 percent (20 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on the TVöD public sector pay scale, commensurate with qualifications and scope of responsibility
Work location: Neckargemünd and remote (flexible by arrangement)
About us
natureplus is a non-profit environmental association and the organization behind the natureplus eco-label, which is recognized across Europe for sustainable building products. We are committed to a future-proof construction sector that is resource-efficient, climate-friendly, and promotes healthy living. To achieve this, we bring together people, organizations, and expertise from across the entire construction industry throughout Europe.
We use our expertise to contribute to scientific and political discussions regarding sustainable building materials and construction methods, share knowledge about building materials, and develop rigorous sustainability criteria for construction products. The natureplus eco-label provides consumers and building professionals with reliable guidance when choosing materials, based on independent, scientifically sound criteria. Our environmental association communicates in a multilingual, open, and transparent manner.
Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for the content of the association's knowledge transfer and support the team in day-to-day operations. You will act as the technical interface between the internal criteria committee and relevant sustainable building institutions. You will oversee research projects from a technical perspective and contribute to their implementation. Specifically, this means:
- You follow current discourse on sustainable building.
- You research, evaluate, and communicate knowledge regarding sustainable building materials and construction methods in the context of climate protection, healthy living, and resource conservation.
- You will support the natureplus criteria committee and assist in the further development of award criteria for the natureplus eco-label.
- You will align the sustainability requirements of the natureplus eco-label with standard-setting, funding, procurement, and building certifications.
- In coordination with your colleagues, you will create technical information, presentations, position papers, and content for our training programs and digital formats.
- You will develop and manage research, communication, and educational projects.
- You will connect natureplus with stakeholders from architecture, the construction industry, science, government, and civil society.
Your profile
Ideally, you bring:
- a completed degree in architecture, civil engineering, materials science, environmental science, or a comparable field,
- initial work experience in architecture, construction planning, and/or the implementation of funded (research) projects,
- possibly additional training in building biology,
- in-depth knowledge of sustainable building and construction materials,
- A passion for scientific research and communicating knowledge in an accessible way,
- You are well-connected within the construction and architecture industry,
- a structured, independent, and responsible approach to work,
- excellent command of German and English, and
- You identify with the goals of a dedicated environmental organization.
