Only two weeks to go! For the 5th time, the German Environment Agency (UBA) is hosting the European Resources Forum (ERF 2020 online) on 3rd November 2020. The event will be held, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the first time as a virtual conference. The ERF has established as an European platform for discussion on the issue of sustainable resource use by focusing on the political and scientific debate on this subject. The conference addresses European decision makers and experts from the fields of policy development, industry, academia, civil society and the media.

The online conference will be opened by UBA President Dirk Messner, together with Virginijus Sinkevicius (European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries), Svenja Schulze (German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety), Hans Bruyninckx (Executive Director, European Environment Agency) and Stientje van Veldhoven (Minister for the Environment, The Netherlands).

The European Resources Forum contributes to the development and implementation of common positions for policy-making in Europe and internationally. The ERF is an instrument for communication on resource issues and for setting up networks and initiating stakeholder alliances at the European and international level. 80 speakers from Europe and around the world will present and discuss a wide range of issues focusing on the political and scientific debate on sustainable resource use (program).

The ERF 2020 virtual event will bring together decision-makers and change agents from politics and administration, industry and business, science and research, civil society and the "young generation". More than 600 participants from over 40 countries have already registered.
